Oil spill testimony recalls `skirmish’ on eve of Deepwater explosion
The chief mechanic of the Deepwater Horizon testified Wednesday that a BP representative argued with rig officials the day of the rig explosion. Douglas Brown, a Transocean employee injured during the explosion, indicated that an unnamed BP official, or “company man,” had “a skirmish” with the rig’s driller and offshore installation manager, Jimmy Harrell, during the meeting.

Rig worker recalls race to trigger emergency system
HOUSTON (Reuters) – A supervisor aboard the doomed Deepwater Horizon drilling rig on Friday recounted a failed attempt to activate a fail-safe system that might have prevented BP Plc’s well from unleashing oil into the Gulf of Mexico.

Mexico recalls a similar oil disaster
