Svanberg earlier said: “I hear comments sometimes that large oil companies are greedy companies who don’t care. But that is not the case in BP. We care about the small people.”

Open for Questions on BP Spill: What You Missed 0

Posted on June 11, 2010 by bp complaints

Today we held a particularly informative chat with Carol Browner, Assistant to the President for Energy and Climate Change and a key advisor on the ongoing Administration-wide response to the BP oil spill.  Taking tough questions from Facebook and WhiteHouse.gov, she covered a lot of ground and addressed a lot of the comments we get day to day on this tragedy.  If you missed it, you can watch the whole thing or jump ahead to any question by clicking on the links below.

Click here to see the video.

Watch the full video above or jump directly to the following sections by clicking the links below (questions are paraphrased):

Opening remarks
How many people are dedicated to the clean up?
Why has the federal government not taken over the clean up process?
Why has the Jones Act not been waived to allow foreign offers with technology to help collect oil?
Why do you allow the continued use of Corexit in our waters even though it is toxic?
Why can’t they create a wrap-around tube or hose to contain the oil that is still gushing?
What is the moratorium on all wells going to do to our economy here in Maine?
How can we authorize any permits for future offshore drilling while this mess with BP is ongoing?
Are any real changes going to be made at MMS?
Will you please convince Congress to put more money into alternative energy sources such as energy and wind?
What can people do to help with the BP oil spill disaster?
Will there be criminal charges brought to those found negligent in this disaster?
Are Halliburton and Transocean not equally liable?
How well will the residents of the Gulf Coast be compensated?
Why can’t we have a major public works program to put people to work and bill BP later?
Will you encourage Congress to pass legislation making it a felony for a corporate representative to mislead the government?
