BP Doubles Estimate for Oil Capture in Gulf of Mexico Spill
BP Plc said it has doubled the amount of oil it is collecting with from the leak below the Gulf of Mexico to about 2,000 barrels a day.

A solution proposal for stopping the oil leaking at Deepwater Horizon in the Gulf of Mexico 14

This is a solution proposal for stopping or reducing the current oil leak caused by the Deepwater Horizon accident in the Gulf of Mexico. The biggest difficulty is implementing it at 5000 feet depth. Would be interested in knowing what others think about the feasability of this proposal and how to improve it. A special thank you goes out to all those helping out in this disaster. Under the current circumstances lets hope for the best. Andy B.

Experts predict Gulf of Mexico BP oil spill could spread to Cuba
Oceanographers have predicted that crude oil from the leaking undersea well could be carried as far afield as Florida Keys, Miami and Cuba by strong currents in the gulf.

A black tide is washing up on the coast of Louisiana as US authorities assess the environmental and economic damage that could follow from an oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. Traces of the oil are reported to have started washing ashore in Louisiana and there are fears it will become one of the worst environmental disasters on record.
