May 21 (Bloomberg) — BP Plc said it may attempt to plug an oil leak 5,000 feet (1,524 meters) below the surface of the Gulf of Mexico next week by stuffing it with drilling mud, a procedure that has never been tried that deep.

BP Capturing 5,000 Barrels a Day From Gulf Oil Leak (Update2)
BP Plc is capturing 5,000 barrels of oil a day from its leaking well in the Gulf of Mexico. The company couldn’t say whether that was all of the crude from the well, which has been estimated to be leaking at that rate.

BP has released footage of their remote operating vehicle (ROV) successfully capping one of the three leaks that is pouring an estimated 5000 barrels of oil a day into the waters off the Gulf of Mexico. You can see a very large amount of oil gushing from the leak in the video . This is the small leak in the drill pipe .
