Goto mote.org The latest facts, stats, pictures and maps for the BP oil spill, its size, its impacts on wildlife, and the efforts at containment and cleanup in the Gulf of Mexico. The explosion of the Transocean Deepwater Horizon rig on April 20 killed 11 people and led to the BP oil spill — the largest in US history — that threatens coastal Louisiana, Gulf Coast fisheries, Gulf of Mexico ecosystems, and perhaps the East Coast, as the spill reaches the loop current. Here, you’ll find updates about the impacts to animals, fish, birds and seafood in the Gulf of Mexico, about the efforts at containment and cleanup, facts about the oil leak’s size, as well as pictures, video, maps and more. Some experts now believe that original estimates of 5000 barrels a day (that’s 210000 gallons) were way off. And BP says that it’s likely that the leak rate is around 60000 barrels (2.5 million gallons) a day. (Source: Los Angeles Times) 19 million to 39 …

A small portion of the giant oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico has reached a powerful current that could carry it as far as Florida and Cuba. Right now, BP is bringing a mixture of natural gas and oil up to a ship which is storing it and burning off the gas. The United States has already imposed a large no-fishing zone in waters affected by the spill. Join The Illuminati (Msg Me). SUBSCRIBE TO MY CHANNEL. Copyright: www.youtube.com
english.ntdtv.com Video from the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico where a massive oil leak continues to spew. Massachusetts Congressman Edward Markey is providing a live stream of the BP video on his website after saying he was frustrated that BP had only released parts of it. BP’s had estimated that 5000 barrels per day are being spilled, many put that number much higher — some estimates at over 25000 barrels per day. As the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico continues to spread, BP says it has been able to capture about a fifth of the oil leaking from the ruptured Deepwater Horizon well by using a mile -long siphon tube deployed by undersea robots down to the leaking well. On Wednesday the US Navy released video, shot on Sunday showing gas brought up from the tube being burned by the drill ship Discover Enterprise, a process known as flaring. The spill has been flowing since April 20, when an explosion on the Deepwater Horizon rig sank the drilling platform and killed 11 workers.
BP is running tests and expected to decide shortly if it will go ahead with an effort to choke off its oil gusher by force-feeding it heavy drilling mud and cement. “Top kill’ is an operation in which heavy mud and cement would be shot into the blown-out well to plug it up.
