BP has released footage of their remote operating vehicle (ROV) successfully capping one of the three leaks that is pouring an estimated 5000 barrels of oil a day into the waters off the Gulf of Mexico. You can see a very large amount of oil gushing from the leak in the video . This is the small leak in the drill pipe .

BP achieves first major success to slow oil leak
A suction operation has captured about a fifth of the crude from one pipe. Plans are underway for a more complete fix. BP’s efforts to slow the flow of oil into the Gulf of Mexico appeared to be working Monday as a mile-long suction tube captured about a fifth of the crude spouting from a broken pipe and transferred it to a waiting ship, company officials said.

Energy giant BP on Sunday marked its first success at containing oil that is gushing unabated into the Gulf of Mexico and said it may be able to stop the flow permanently in about a week.
