Once idle fishermen now deploying boom on Barataria Bay
BARATARIA BAY, La. — Shrimp boats that were sitting idle because of the oil spill just a couple of weeks ago are now put to good use along Barataria Bay. As soon as containment boom arrives at the dock, a boat is there to take it out to where it’s needed. Oil from the Deepwater Horizon leak is now just six miles from the small town of Jean Lafitte.
