Mud beats oil (so far) to stop Deepwater Horizon spill
BP’s “top kill” effort has halted the flow of oil from the Mississippi Canyon 252 well, according to U.S. Coast Guard Admiral Thad Allen, national incident commander for the oil spill response. BP May Rebound as Drop Beats Exxon After Valdez: Chart of Day
May 6 (Bloomberg) — Since the Gulf of Mexico oil spill started in April, BP Plc’s shares have dropped more than three times as fast as Exxon Corp.’s after the larger Valdez disaster in 1989. The difference may mean the London-based company is poised to rebound, JPMorgan Cazenove said.
