Some 70,000 turtle eggs to be whisked far from oil
PENSACOLA BEACH, Fla. (AP) An effort to save thousands of sea turtle hatchlings from dying in the oily Gulf of Mexico will begin in the coming weeks in a desperate attempt to keep an entire generation of threatened species from vanishing.

NEW ORLEANS — Michele Kelley, the stranding coordinator for Audubon Nature Institute and the state of Louisiana, speaks about sea turtle rehabilitation and the unified response to the Deepwater Horizon BP oil spill at the Audubon Nature Institute Rehabilitation Center in New Orleans June 24, 2010.
