NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana (AFP) – US Vice President Joe Biden heads to the Gulf of Mexico Tuesday, as a tropical storm — forecast to reach hurricane strength — was likely to hamper oil spill cleanup efforts.

HOUSTON (Reuters) – A gathering storm was set to delay efforts to capture more oil gushing into the Gulf of Mexico, even as BP Plc said on Monday a relief well being drilled to end the leak for good was within 20 feet (6 metres) of the blown-out well.
