BP's Ken Feinberg must be more transparent: Mississippi
Reuters L) billion compensation fund for victims of the Gulf of Mexico oil spill to be more transparent, Mississippi's attorney general said on Thursday. … BP sets bn for Gulf of Mexico disaster compensation Oil Spill Victims Must Not be Short-Changed by Uncertain Estimate of Recovery Spill claims czar floats pay plan |
feinberg is working solely for BP and minimizing payments made to the victims…Don’t let him bully you if your a claimant…
This class Ction payout is no different than what Dow and the people connected with it has done to the many victims..if you sign any document saying you want to settle be wary because thousands of women signed a legal document that by the way took years of negotiations and this past few months Dow with the help of the few 6th circuit judges made a ruling they could change. Word from or to and in a disease payout categorie..
The 6th circuit then refused to rehear this motion on appeal…the judges decided they couldn’t be bothered so a select few on this circuit made the ruling..
What is scary is that after settlement was reached and after thousands of women signed this package accepting it and voting yes with the word or being used Dow with the use of the 6th circuit court got to have it changed…
So for example the fund initially was set at 50,000 dollars for someone with say the disease multiple sclerosis and it originally stated you had to be disabled and unable to work or disabled with self care issues..because of what the 6th circuit did it now means you have to be a invalid unable to work, unable to feed yourself, unable to groom yourself…to get 50,000 dollars..
for the 6th circuit to make this ridiculous ruling and for the courts to not even think how unfair this was to the many Ill women who I feel now signed a document that was not legal shows how companies like Dow and BP operate…when the courts use there positions in some cases to help corporate america to still victimize claimants it is time class actions were looked at for what they are…it is not to help victims…
Dows fund has also not been transparent and I often wonder how it is that a company that caused so much damage and has victims suffering is even allowed to be in control or for that matter even have a say in how money is distributed to claimants…especially when in the Bp case this feinberg is employeed by the very company who destroyed so many lifes..
It is in feinbergs best interests to save as much of the funds as he can for BP as is the case in Dow.
The other major problem is the deals gojng on behind closed doors that claimants are never told about…the special funds set up for the lawyers to collect from just like the Dow fund…the other big mis justice to claimants is the dollars lawyers get versus the injured…
Class actions need an overhaul but then until politicians some who Re lawyers change the laws this abuse on claimants will continue…
the other thing worth noting in the Dow 6th circuit ruling is how no med a picked this up and reported it…
Another thing is why has no top notch attorneys commented on this? As in the Dow case adhere the women really had no one looking out for there well being be careful with the BP claimants because really no one will be watching out for these claimants either..
Class actions are for the greedy attorneys and others who get there filthy hands into the pot…it is never about the victims..
