Animated computer model map with “drifters” showing estimated location and movement of the BP Deepwater Horizon oil spill. This model shows increasing evidence the spill will soon be picked up by the Gulf Loop Current and then into the Gulf Stream with devastating effects for the Florida Keys and the East Coast beaches. Alabama beaches (Dauphin Island, Gulf Shores) and Florida’s Emerald Coast seem to be safe for the next few weeks. Animation from Florida State University.

Sad coverage. Rick should have found better people to talk to. Yes, the only person that we can depend on is God. I am a 4th generation New Orleanian. BP and the gov. are letting us down. They’re not doing anything to stop this oil. They are collecting it to make a profit. They are killing our way of life, our environment, our ecosystem, our tourism, our people! Do you like to come to our festivals and eat our delicious foods? We love you, do you love us? Please pray for our people and wildlife!

  2. STEVEDIGIBOYtv says:

Ocean water samples need to be taken offshore and at the coast, dispersants make it change color. Good luck, great drummer.

  3. bigpapatube says:

the US government should sieze the assests of BP america before they take a powder from this country and leave a mess. obama grow some balls and do something, you’re starting to slack like bush did

  4. bigpapatube says:

  5. dainismichel says:

so can we hook up with Paul Stamets and use mushrooms to save the situation on our own?

  6. chicofrijoles says:

If the levees were maintained by the Army Corp of Engineers, and not left to deteriorate after repeated requests to fix them, Hurricane Katrina would not have devastated New Orleans.

  7. utubeboob9 says:

I feel so sad for the people of New Orleans. The whole world needs to understand the disaster happening there. It will never be the same there. The only question is how much worse will it get. The whole world should be concerned about this and lending a hand to the fullest capacity of their abilities. Once again the love of money has shown its grotesque head!

  8. daonfpe says:

Why does God allow some people to suffer so much, and others..well, they get away with every bloody evil blue murdering deed, and still eveything is fine with ehm. Why do they poor people always have to keep on taking shit???? Are they promise any heaven if they don’t believe or accept the Bible’s account of ‘truth’ (*or Islam for that matter)???

  9. CaptJohnSwallow says:

Appreciate ye keepin’ the truth out there, Mr. Adams!

FYI, Hurricane Katrina may have been a natural occurrence, but what happened to New Orleans & Louisiana was entirely a Man Made Disaster…levee failure certainly (known poor construction), but the same oil companies that are killing the Gulf have been killing the wetlands in South Louisiana for years dredging them out with channels and letting the saltwater into fresh water bayous.

  10. brno22504 says:

@i’m from N.O. where there is a long history of race mixing; the only group of people that are worse than europeans (in the treatment of Africans) are half blooded house slaves that do the dirty work for the slave master!

  11. shalomshushan says:

another great use for 5 gallon buckets!

  12. polifonyann says:

So the “drummer” who clearely didn’t have much to say got more minutes then the clearer speaking fishermen at the end(?) @gop Oh yes and our BLACK president did visit twice and took responsibility. Also I just saw a clip of Bush shaking hands with Haitian refugees and wiping it on Clinton.

  13. toomanyfacts says:

Blessed are the poor, look at this dude he don’t have a care int he world he knows whose he is. I love this guy!

  14. 3slimdog says:

    Tell it like it is.

  15. green2lean says:

Screw BP – BP should be liquidated by the courts and divided among Mexico and the states that border the Gulf of Mexico.

Unfortunately you can’t financially compensate nature or the environment.

  16. usgop says:

After Katrina Bush was lambasted for not acting quickly enough and liberals said it was because NO was mostly black and Bush was white..thirty+days and counting..what’s the excuse for their BLACK president?

  17. boostedgsrfoadoa says:

  21. jpcomputerservices says:

What the hell did that black guy say?

  22. Oilnightmares says:

Wonder why you have not mentioned the other BP oil spill in Alaska that happened a few weeks ago..

  23. dracojosh says:

Ugh. The whole thing sickens me, and is way worse than even the spill of Exxon. Jeez…what a mess. It’s hard to think about without getting a raging headache and wanna cry like a baby. If a hurricane hits that thing, we’re all screwed.

  24. UndergroundMMA992 says:

@1929spectre damn… i have never even considered that but it makes perfect sense. No use evacuating people…. the government will get you one way or another. I’m not a religious man, but praying is our last option at this point.

  25. UndergroundMMA992 says:

@blueeyes314 I’m from mobile. The beaches are done with. The dry sand is still fine, but right where the water meets it…… its truly sad man. Many of my childhood memories right there on the spot i stood the other day…. i still feel like mourning. we’re so helpless at this point……..

  26. mindgarde12 says:

Damn, That was in may. Imagine where the shits gotten to by now. If this is the beggining of the end and we go through famine like everyone says then we deserve it. Here we have leached off the earth for centuries and now we fucked up one of the most fragile habitats in it just because we wanted to save a little money on foriegn oil. Enough of this… I’ve got to go get in my gas guzzling V8 95 BMW 540I, Its got about 300 hourse power, and go get me some Mcdonalds! AMERICA FUCK YEAH!

  27. 1929spectre says:

here is something else to consider if all 2 billion barrels escape ,the pressure of the oil lake helps support the sea bed above it ? yea started to catch my drift ? all oil forced out like a cork out of a bottle ,then water in at great pressure which may cause the sea bed to collapse ? tsunami of oil ? get the picture ?

  29. dorissmithify says:

Those BP bastards don’t let the University show any oil going into the gulf stream only 30 mile radius around the rig explosion. Those assassins made the University take those forecasts off the internet to hide the truth.

  30. e081194eng says:

Just get a big ole’ rock from Arizona and plug the hole… Too easy !!!!

  31. TheBreadSultan says:

read this on teh interwebz and LOL’D :
“KARMA – When foreigners come to your country and screw everything up over a little oil then don’t clean up after themselves”

  32. MrPanetela says:

@fishdirt yu need look no further than the moon. The dark areas called Mares are the result of lavas pouring thru multiple fissures after the initial impact. I believe all that can be done now is to capture oil/gas gushing out. For that you a giant funnel device and hoses leading up topside to tankers. Then you wait for the pressure to drop before another topkill attempt. You are right, it risks making things worst.

  33. v44forme1 says:

If banks stopped funding wars there would be peace. If banks helped the public instead of the corporations, there would be more wealth in the 3rd class. If there would be no stock market we would not be sitting in this mess. If there would be no capitalists/communists/kings/queens/ corporations/rulers there would be no wars, poverty, theft of the treasury, inequality, educations cuts, lack of healthcare, illegal alien invasion, slavery, and no oil spills.

  34. philthetremoloking says:

Don’t fall for the BP PR campaign! They are spending a MILLION dollars a month to buy key search terms on youtube, which is why their stupid videos pop up all the time!
SHAME ON YOUTUBE for accepting their blood money!!

  36. masterworler says:

I think we can stop that split by cover that hole with barrels of toxic wasted .I believe after that everything should be all right ..let me do it I wanna make some millions !!

  37. fishdirt says:

This is actually getting scary. The amount of pressure is something no one has dealt with before and partially the reason it happened. The only thing able to deal with it is a nuclear explosion but it risks making the rupture worse.

  38. meanster100 says:

do you have an update again, thanks 😉

  39. Dakoder says:

Whats scary is this is a month ago.

  40. AryanKnight says:

-Totally devastating to our precious ecology; –although these ruthless Oil-baron bastards should have never been allowed to drill in the Gulf, as the geologists point-out that much of the proximal land has already dropped below sea-leve. Nobody is this stupid, it is likely an effort by the jewZionist Bank’sters to destroy land-values, –whereby as usual they will then grab-up abandoned land for next to nothing. Now do you understand? Abolish their so-called Fed.Reserve-Sys. & IRS-henchmen…

  41. evet45 says:

BTW, according to wikipedia there are over 3800 oil rigs in the gulf, currently operating.

  42. evet45 says:

@Wakakaboo I hope Mexico and Central America have begun to place booms and other devices to help from this contaminating their shores. I feel helpless as my obligations keep me only able to stay focused, however, not able to do much more. The solar industry needs to become more affordable and competitive. Tony wants ?his life back?, So do shrimp and Pelicans- as well as the families of this rig who lost their loved ones.

  43. servicetradescom says:

Boycott Arco, Castrol and AM PM markets! Boycott all BP companies until this spill is 100% cleaned up! Not because of the original leak but because of the companies response. Please pass it on 5 times!

  44. ADEdge says:

Very interesting, It would be good to see another update, a mid june one perhaps so we can see how this has progressed since mid may.
