Several rehabilitated brown pelicans and 1 Forrester tern were transported from Louisiana to the Aransas National Wildife Refuge near Rockport. The birds were banded and released. So far there are no known direct impacts of the oil spill on the Texas coast. For more on the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill, see www.tpwd.state.tx.us

BP – so reckless. They suck. Did you hear theyre trying to dump ammnoia and sludge into lake michigan, through an environmental loophole.
Good job BP you suck. I will never buy gas from you ass holes agin
just fucking 38 I have 190 dead in my fucking yard from the god damn oil
How many of them died???
Beautiful birds…glad they got a second chance.
I really wish they were attaching colored leg bands. USFWS bands are not readable with a scope, while the colored leg bands are. We really need to do this to determine how effective rehabilitation is and to determine where these birds go when released far from their original capture sites. An opportunity for understanding rehabilitation and relocation is being lost.
At least these Pelicans get a seconds chance .. really cool to see them fly out and gather together.
It’s nice to see some good(ish) news related to the BP disaster for a change. Keep up the great work TP&W!
