My opinion on who really is ultimately responsible for the Deepwater Horizon Incident. I’ve got bad news – we all bear some of the responsibility. No problem since we will all end up paying for it anyway in the long run. As long as we as a country stay hooked on oil like some junkie, we will do whatever it takes to satisfy our need for that next fix (fill up). In doing this, count on little incidents like this happening from time to time. It isn’t a matter of “if”, it’s a matter of when. The only thing about this incident that surprises me is that anyone involved can actually act surprised with a straight face. Please note – In the interest of full disclosure I am a retired United States Coast Guard Officer, however the opinions here are solely my own and in no way reflect the views of the US Coast Guard or any other official government agency.

Great video Retroman… Very informative man. Peace
Alan Greenspan set the standard for big oil operating as close to the edge as possible. George W. Bush removed a Clinton era requirement for Acoustic Trigger valves on offshore well heads.
The Acoustic Trigger, a $500K valve required by just about every country BP operates in could have prevented what will be the largest oceanic disaster in American history.
America is addicted to oil, but the right-wing is addicted to deregulating big oil.
