GULF OF MEXICO — Coast Guard Cutter Axe crewmembers, along with civilian contractors, set boom along the northeast shoreline of Raccoon Island, approximately 20 miles south of Cocodrie, La., Wednesday, June 16, 2010. Raccoon Island is a protected bird breeding sanctuary with a variety of breeds. The Cutter Axe is a 75-foot construction buoy tender homeported in Morgan City, La.
